CanSupport opens its first outpatient clinic in East Delhi for cancer patients

CanSupportCanSupport is a not-for-profit registered society that provides care and support for early stage cancer patients and those with advanced or terminal cancer by bringing palliative care to their doorsteps. CanSupport has reached thousands of people in pain and this is one of their best achievements so far.

CanSupport inaugurated their first ‘Out Patient Clinic’ on 6 June 2013 in the compound of Pocket E, GTB Enclave, LIG Flats at around 11:15 am.  The ribbon cutting was done by the Honorable Member of Legislative Assembly, Shri Veer Singh Dhingan.

Though the official opening of the OPC only happened on 6 June 2013, the clinic has started treating patients on 6 May 2013, and had already made 230 visits in just a month.

The outpatient clinic has a staff strength of 4 including the head doctor, Dr Upinder Kaur, nurse, Mr Iftakar, counselor, Ms Pavani Rao and office assistant, Ms Sabir.

The clinic will be a cancer pain and palliative care clinic.  Besides providing nursing and medications such as morphine for pain management to terminally ill patients, the clinic also provides physical, mental, social and spiritual support to patients.
