Join us for the third session of our Quarterly Webinar Series for 2022!
This session will be a Research-focused webinar and will be held on 25 Aug 2022, 2.30-4.00 pm (Singapore time)! It will be a live 1.5 hr session with a Q&A segment at the end with the speakers.
We are honoured to have Professor Wang Ying Wei and Dr Megan F. Liu as our speakers for the session:
Professor Wang Ying Wei is the director of the Centre for Palliative Care and medical consultant in Hualien Tzuchi Hospital. He received his MD degree from Taiwan University and PhD from Tulane University in US. He completed his residency training in Family Medicine in Taiwan University Hospital. He was the former Director General in Health Promotion Administration MOHW, the chief in Heart Lotus Hospice in Tzuchi General Hospital, and director in the Department of Medical Humanities, Tzuchi University. He started the first Buddhist hospice programme in East Taiwan since 1996. He is a council member of APHN. He developed many innovative programs for geriatric care, palliative care and medical humanities in Chinese Taipei in the past few years. His specialty included palliative care, geriatric care, medical education, and health promotion.
Megan F. Liu is an Associate Professor and Director of the School of Gerontology and Long-Term Care at Taipei Medical University. Her teaching and research focus are on gerontological nursing, long-term care and palliative care with an emphasis of understanding healthcare professionals’ perspective and needs, then further design relevant evidence-based protocols and training to further advance health care. She is also familiar with smart technology facilitated interventions for older adults with various needs. She recently received the Distinguished Educator Recognition in Gerontological Nursing from The National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence.
