Come join us for the fourth and final session of our 2023 Quarterly Webinar Series! This time our topic will be on ‘Serious Illness Conversations‘ held on 26 September 2023, 2:30-4:00 pm Singapore time. It will be a live 1.5 hour session with a Q&A segment at the end with the speakers.
For this session, we are honoured to have Dr Amy Waters from St George Hospital in Sydney, Australia and Dr Jamie Zhou from Division of Supportive and Palliative Care, National Cancer Centre Singapore as our speakers!
In this webinar, Dr Amy Waters will share tips on how to deliver bad news compassionately using evidence-based tools. Dr Jamie Zhou will introduce the Serious Illness Conversation Guide that has been locally adapted in Singapore. This guide gives us the language to understand our patients’ values and goals which in turn translates to how we care for them.
Dr Amy Waters is a palliative care physician at St George Hospital in Sydney, Australia. She completed a Master of Medical Education in 2012 and is heavily involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. She has a special interest in communication skills training and has had extensive training and experience in this area, including facilitating communication skills workshops for palliative medicine clinicians and nephrologists since 2009
Dr Jamie Zhou is a Consultant at the Division of Supportive and Palliative Care, National Cancer Centre Singapore. She is a clinical assistant professor and education faculty at the Lien Centre for Palliative Care, Duke-NUS Medical School.
Her special interests are in palliative care in intensive care units and communication skills training.
