Our Campaigns

Covid-19 Care Packages

Singapore

Malaysia

India

Bhutan

Indonesia

Sri Lanka

Myanmar

The APHN Covid-19 Care Packages were designed as a morale booster for palliative care workers in the Asia Pacific region working at the frontline during this Covid-19 pandemic. Some are battling to provide medical care, medicines and psychosocial support to very sick patients at home despite city lockdowns. Others are working in hospitals or are being transferred to the frontline to take care of Covid-19 patients with limited protective equipment and masks.

The care package will consist of different items* (e.g. surgical masks, snacks to consume at the end of a long working shift, vitamin C etc.) with notes of encouragement to show our support for their selfless sacrifice during this period.

ALL donations received have gone towards purchasing items for the care package. Thank you for enabling us to send these care packages to palliative care workers working tirelessly during this Covid-19 pandemic in the Asia Pacific region. Let us continue to spread kindness!

The care packages have reached Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Bhutan, Myanmar, India & Sri Lanka!

APHN's Travel Bursaries

APHN continuously organises programmes for training and education to equip those in developing countries with knowledge on palliative care so that they may apply what they have learnt to help patients in their institutions. Currently, one of the active programmes is our Clinical Observership.

The 5-full day programme consists of 2 days of classroom teachings and case discussions by local faculty, and 3 days of clinical attachments to the hospital service, inpatient hospice, day care and home care service. During the observership, participants will shadow palliative care teams to learn what a hospice palliative care service is through experiential learning and immersion with patients and the palliative care team in the clinical setting. At the same time, participants will have opportunities to interact with the doctors, nurses, social workers and other palliative care team members at separate visitations.

This is a great opportunity to experience, learn, and network with professionals from the palliative care field.

With your donation, you can help provide an opportunity for a palliative care worker to attend the observership for free or at a fraction of the cost.

We appeal to you to support our cause. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Adopt a Participant

The Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network (APHN) offers bursaries to help those with financial difficulties to attend the biennial Asia Pacific Hospice Conference (APHC). You may head to this link to read the testimonies from our bursary recipients last year: https://aphn.org/aphn-bursaries-2019-reports/

Help support participants who wish to attend the conference so they may experience this incredible learning opportunity and use the knowledge they attained to make a difference in palliative care for their hometowns.
