After-hours or Out-of-hours (OOH) services are an integral component of community palliative care. Various models of OOH care are presented, and experiences of patients, carers and medical professionals studied. Challenges and barriers are explored in a discussion to refine OOH care so as to better meet the multi-faceted needs of patients at the end of life.
