The Lien Foundation is a longstanding Strategic Partner of the APHN, sharing a commitment to improving access to quality palliative care and developing the people, leadership and systems needed to advance palliative care across the Asia Pacific region.
The partnership extends beyond individual projects or programme funding. Over the years, Lien Foundation has supported APHN in building regional palliative care capacity, developing future leaders, and strengthening APHN itself as a regional network.
The Lien Collaborative for Palliative Care brings together APHN's regional network, international and local faculty, healthcare institutions and national stakeholders to strengthen palliative care capacity, particularly in countries where access to specialist training and services remains limited.
Beyond training individual healthcare professionals, the programme develops local faculty and clinical and nursing leaders, strengthens services, builds national and regional networks, and engages Ministries of Health and policymakers to support sustainable palliative care development.
The Cynthia Goh Palliative Care Fellowship invests in promising palliative care professionals from across the region and supports their development as future leaders.
Through mentorship, learning opportunities, regional exposure and connections with established palliative care leaders, Fellows are encouraged to grow as leaders, advocates, educators and change-makers who can contribute to palliative care development within their institutions, countries and the wider region.
Strengthening APHN: Investing in the network behind the work
Lien Foundation's partnership has also strengthened APHN's organisational capacity. Its support has provided office space and dedicated staff (one director and one executive), enabling the Network to build its operational capability and sustain its growing regional work.
This investment gives us a stable base from which to coordinate programmes, connect members and partners, mobilise expertise, and advance palliative care across the region.
