Synopsis

Effective learning and teaching require an understanding of basic educational principles as well as the subject matter. But it also requires an understanding of the context in which the learning and teaching take place and the conditions under which learners need to apply their insights, knowledge and skills. In this session, you will learn the basic principles of teaching and learning, including an awareness of learning styles; the impact of formal, informal and hidden curricula; methods to evaluate and measure impact. You will also learn about the context relevant to the Asia Pacific Region and how that may impact on developing Education and Teaching Programs.
