Come join us for our fourth session of our 2026 Webinar Series! This time our topic will be on ‘Palliative Care in Heart Failure’ held on 12 August 2026 (Wed), 2:30-4:00 pm (Singapore time). It will be a live 1.5 hour session on Zoom with a Q&A segment at the end with the speakers.
For this session, we are honoured to have Dr Shao-Yi Cheng (National Taiwan University) and Dr Hsien-Liang Huang (National Taiwan University) as our speakers!
Speaker Bio
Dr. Shao-Yi Cheng is currently Professor and Director of the Department of Family Medicine, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University. Dr. Cheng is President of the Taiwan Academy of Hospice Palliative Medicine. Her research interest involves cancer screening, women’s health, end-of-life care and quality of dying. She has founded palliative care research network in Taiwan, East-Asia and has been actively collaborating with many countries for cross- cultural studies. She is currently one of the council members of the APHN. Dr. Cheng is Editor-in-Chief of Taiwan Journal of Hospice Palliative Care. She is also reviewer of many internationally renowned journals such as Annals of Internal Medicine, Journal of Pain and Symptom Management, Palliative Medicine, Journal of Palliative Medicine, BMC Palliative Care, Oncologist and used to serve on the Editorial Board of BMC Palliative Care.
Dr. Hsien-Liang Huang is an attending physician in the Department of Family Medicine at the National Taiwan University Hospital and a clinical associate professor at the National Taiwan University. He has a strong public health science background and has trained in areas of epidemiology, statistics, and social science. Dr. Huang conducts researches in the field of palliative medicine, smoking cessation, and family medicine with a particular emphasis on integrating the shared decision making model into physicians clinical practice.
