Life Before Death
LIFE Before Death is a multi-award winning documentary series that asks the fundamental question underpinning our mortality. This beautifully filmed journey takes us to 11 countries as we follow the remarkable health care professionals battling the sweeping epidemic of pain that threatens to condemn one in every ten of us to an agonizing and shameful death. Through the eyes of patients and their families, we discover the inherent humanity that empowers the best of us to care for those beyond cure.
Life Before Death Short Films
LIFE Before Death includes over 50 short films themed around pain control and end-of-life issues. These were released once a week for a year leading up to the feature film’s release. All the short films can be viewed here.
The Pain Project
The Pain Project is a documentary by the International Reporting Program on the situation in India, Ukraine and Uganda. The International Reporting Program found that “a combination of bureaucratic hurdles and the chilling effect of the global war on drugs are largely to blame, leaving humanitarians scrambling to work outside the law — or change the law — to bring relief to suffering patients all over the world.”
